Tip: How to pull off the monochromatic look: I truly, unapologetically love the color gray. Therefore putting together an entirely grey outfit (from head to toe) is not something I shy away from. A monochromatic look can be achieved with any color. In the past, for a bold look, I have styled a purple monochromatic ensemble. You can also look at layering yourself in red or navy for a timeless and polished look.
A more subtle way to pull off this look is to work with neutrals. The most popular neutral to work with is definitely black on black. This is a chic, foolproof look that is easy to pull together.
When working with any color (neutral or bold) you can really go one of two ways. Either work with all of the same fabrics. For example a burgundy silk slip dress cover with a burgundy silk wrap. Or you can mix different fabrics and textures amongst the same color. As seen here, the embossed grey cotton top paired with the sweater knit pleated skirt and finished off with grey leather mules.
